The band started in summer of 2003 under the name "Arise", after a few months and line-up changes we played one show under that name. In a short period of time after that show we changed our name to "Monument" and continued under that name. We thought that Monument was just a better name but it meant much more than that, it meant new beginning!
When we changed our name we started to work more intensively on new songs, the songs sounded different and more mature. A lot of new influences were thrown into the music and it sounded better, it sounded more powerful! Music that Monument is playing can be described as death metal combined with modern metal and hard core breakdowns, we call it Mosh-Death metal.
